I am a research scientist and a numerical modeler at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, Helsinki, Finland.

My research interests include computational fluid dynamics, ocean modeling, finite element method, and machine learning. Main research themes are the dynamics of the Baltic Sea, coastal and estuarine processes, river plumes, and next-generation unstructured grid modeling techniques.

In recent years, I have been developing the unstructured grid coastal ocean model, Thetis.

Columbia River plume simulated with Thetis.
Gulf of Bothnia simulated with NEMO.
